| An International Conference
City University of Hong Kong, March 22-24, 2001

This conference is a follow up of a previous conference on Greater China and the World Economy held at City University, July 2000. Theoretical and empirical papers analyzing and estimating the following impacts caused by expected accession of China and Taiwan to the World Trade Organization (WTO) are most welcome for presentation:

      Quantitative
estimation of these impacts is especially encouraged. Papers that examine
the foreign trade and foreign direct investment of these three economies
      are also welcome. Economists
are invited to submit by November 30, 2000
a draft of a suitable paper (or an extended abstract, 300-500 words) to Anming
Zhang, Department of Economics and Finance, City University of Hong Kong,
Tat Chee Avenue, Hong Kong <EFANMING@cityu.edu.hk>.
      Submission via e-mail is
preferred, and should be accompanied by a cover letter stating mailing and
e-mail addresses, phone and fax numbers, affiliation and academic rank.
Since we are contemplating publishing selected papers, submission of
papers that are not being considered for publication elsewhere is most
welcome. If accepted, a completed paper for presentation will be due on January
      31, 2001. Participants
should find their own resources for traveling, but partial travel
subsidies may be available to those who are really in need. To apply,
please state the amount needed and the least expensive round-trip airfare
between your city and Hong Kong. |
